Sarah Crawford Russell

With her encouraging and positive personality Sarah believes that everyone can do yoga. Yoga will change your life - one breath at a time. As her teacher Baba Hari Dass says "As soon as a person starts thinking 'I want to become a better person', that is the start of yoga." Sarah's Yin and Restorative classes are a genuine therapeutic and meditative experience. She gives her students the space they need to breathe and truly listen to their bodies. Her Hatha and Vinyasa classes focus on synchronizing breath with movement, creating strength and balance, and integrating our heads with our hearts. Though she teaches various styles of Yoga, in each class Sarah emphasizes the same thing - that yoga is a journey, not a destination. In 2008 Sarah completed her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, an experience that "changed her life" as she began to see yoga not just as a physical practice but as a way of life. That same year she also finished her degree in Contemporary Dance at Simon Fraser University. Most recently Sarah had the amazing opportunity to study in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico with Michael Gannon. During this 200 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Apprenticeship Sarah experienced a remarkable transformation within her own mind and body through which she hopes to inspire others on their journey both on and off the mat.
